Mature Students
The University of Galway Mature Students' Society is where mature students and staff can get together to share experiences, offer support, make friends and enjoy activities.
Membership of the Society is open to any student or staff member who feel they will benefit from the Society, but is particularly aimed at those who are 23 years and older when enrolling at the University of Galway!
Members include Undergraduates, Postgraduates, Access students, Evening students, Part-time students and Staff.
We serve as a focal point for all mature individuals in the University providing opportunities for meeting and socialising with people from all backgrounds and of varied interests.
Our activities include:
Daytime 'Coffee and Catch Up' Meetings,
Pizza Evenings
Yoga
Bowling
Karaoke nights
Cinema and Theatre Evenings.
Local Day-away and Overnight International Trips.
Member-led Activities
Before Covid we went to Lisbon in Portugal; on previous summer trips we visited: Sofia in Bulgaria, Tallinn in Estonia, Krakow in Poland, Malta, Budapest, Romania, Edinburgh and Berlin.
Day and Overnight trips within Ireland included:
The Aran Islands, Doolin in Clare, to Dublin for: Aras an Uachtarain and Leinster House.
