Mature Students
The Mature Student Society is a friendly group for anyone returning to education or taking a different path to university.
We’re all about meeting new people, sharing experiences, and supporting each other while having a good time. Whether you’re juggling work, family, or just starting fresh, you’ll find people here who get it.
Our Society is open to any student or staff member who feels they’d enjoy being part of our community. However, it’s primarily geared toward those aged 23 and over when starting at the University of Galway. Our members come from all corners of university life—undergrads, postgrads, access students, evening and part-time learners, and staff - each bringing their own experiences and perspectives.
We aim to be the central hub for mature students on campus, offering plenty of chances to meet new people, build connections, and socialise in a welcoming, pressure-free environment. Whether you’re returning to education, balancing study with work or family, or simply looking for a group that understands your journey, you’ll find support, community, and good company here.
If you ever have any questions or want to get in touch, we’d love to hear from you - feel free to email us.
