Created by Lauren Rodgers (PRA) and Amy Mullen (PRO) This poster formed a central element of the show’s visual marketing campaign. The aim of the poster was to create a striking and recognisable visual identity for the production, communicate key event information clearly, and generate interest that would translate into ticket sales and audience attendance. The poster uses a vintage theatre aesthetic, featuring illuminated old Broadway style lettering for the title, brick backdrop (which was a central backdrop of the show staging), and silhouettes of dancers that evoke the show performances. The texture over the elements of the posters shows the old, nearly run down style. This is central to the shows plot as the show is about a run down theatre having one last hurrah. A key strength of the poster is its clarity of information. The poster strictly fulfills important licensing and professional theatre requirements, Ensuring that these credits were correctly displayed allowed the production to meet the professional standards required for licensed musical theatre performances. Beyond its informational role, the poster helped establish a cohesive visual identity across the entire marketing campaign. The colour palette, typography, and imagery were used consistently across our social media platforms. This consistency strengthened brand recognition for the production and ensured that audiences encountering different promotional materials could immediately associate them with the Follies production. The poster was distributed both physically and digitally. Printed versions were placed in high-traffic areas across campus and within the local Galway city. A digital version was also shared across GUMS social media platforms, allowing the design to reach a wider audience beyond those physically present on campus. The strong visual design made the poster highly shareable online, helping to further increase awareness of the show.
