Freedom, or Saoirse, is often imagined as escape, but through my photography I
explore it as something more complex a balance between individuality, movement,
and the realities of everyday life. The works I have submitted reflect moments
observed across urban spaces, where freedom exists not only in solitude but also
within shared human experience.
In the first image, a solitary figure moves through a rain-soaked platform illuminated
by cinematic light, suspended between departure and arrival. The scene evokes the
quiet resilience of workers who move tirelessly through the rhythms of day and night
- reminiscent of a fisherman returning after long hours of labour, carrying
responsibility not only for survival but for those who depend on him. The surrounding
glow transforms an ordinary moment into something universal, where exhaustion
and hope exist side by side. Here, freedom becomes perseverance the dignity found in
continuing forward despite uncertainty, and the silent strength of lives often
unnoticed.
