The Rover Society is aimed at those who are currently involved in Scouts and Guides, who have previous experience with Scouts and want to rekindle their interest or even those who have no scouting experience but want a taste of the outdoors and the scouting world.
The way we operate and the activities that we undertake all fall under the Scouting ethos and influence. RoverSoc offers its members wonderful opportunities to develop and learn new skills.
We have events ranging from games nights and campfires, woodcarving and our traditional Halloween "pumpkin" carving. We also try to get out some weekends in hammocks or tents to give students an overnight outdoor experience. Each spring we arrange a trip abroad, whilst closer to home we attend the annual rover intervarsities alongside the other Irish Rover Societies. During the countdown to Christmas, we host an overnight party for our members and the wider RoverSoc community.
Above all, RoverSoc is about having fun! No matter what we get up to, it's always an adventure!
We currently hold our weekly events on Monday evenings, although this can be changed at the start of the year to suit. Make sure to join our WhatsApp group and/or our mailing list to keep up to date with our events, we will always announce our events there and on the societies' calendar.
