Friends of MSF (FoMSF) are student societies in universities and colleges around Ireland and the UK. We are the official student support organisation for Medecins Sans Frontieres across both nations and are run on a voluntary basis.
Our aims are to:
- Raise Awareness of MSFs work and humanitarian issues
- Raise funds for MSF
- Encourage students to consider working for organisations such as MSF
MSF exists to save lives by providing medical aid where it is needed most in armed conflicts, epidemics, famines and natural disasters. All these situations call for a rapid response with specialised medical and logistical help. But, we also run longer-term projects, tackling health crises and supporting people where the need is greatest. We currently have projects running in over 60 countries.
The society meets primarily for events to promote its objectives, such as to organise guest speakers, awareness campaigns or even our table quiz!
The committee meets biweekly Monday at 6pm , message us if you'd like to offer an idea!
Anybody with an idea for an event, or who is willing to help out with an event, should contact
