Cumann De Barra is the University of Galway branch of Ógra Fianna Fáil , the largest and most influential youth political organisation in Ireland. At Cumann De Barra, we believe in active participation—whether that’s through debating key issues, developing policy proposals, or engaging with public representatives. Our members play a direct role in influencing the policies of both Ógra Fianna Fáil and the Fianna Fáil party, ensuring that the voices of young people are heard at the highest levels.
We regularly host guest speakers from across the political, academic, and social spheres to discuss pressing national and global issues. These events provide an opportunity to learn from experts, challenge ideas, and deepen our understanding of the policies shaping Ireland today.
While politics is at our core, Cumann De Barra is also about building friendships and having fun. We organise regular social events, from informal meet-ups to larger gatherings, where members can connect outside of political discussions. Whether you’re new to politics or a seasoned activist, you’ll find a welcoming community in our Cumann.
Members also get the chance to attend Ógra Fianna Fáil conferences, national events, and social outings, giving them unique opportunities to network with like-minded individuals from across the country.
