Family Medicine Society

University of Galway's Family Medicine Society, also known as General Practitioner Society, consists of a group of students who strive to promote and encourage interest in the medical specialty of Family Medicine and General Practice.

We believe it is imperative that medical students in the University of Galway are exposed to Family Medicine and General Practice early in their medical career and understand the role of a General Practitioner and Family Physician. We hope to showcase the frontline of primary care medicine and highlight the importance of Family Medicine in the community.

Whether you want to be a GP/Family Physician or are simply curious, Family Medicine Society is a welcoming place where you can come and learn about one of the most diverse specialties in medicine.
