Amnesty International is the world's biggest human rights organisation, a global movement of over 10 million people. Amnesty International is independent of any government, political ideology, or economic interest. Amnesty International wants to see a world in which all people enjoy the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.
Amnesty Society at the University of Galway hold various events to promote awareness of human rights. Our events are informative and interactive, while also fostering an environment for healthy discussion and debate. Through such events, we are building a close knit network of students through fun events and activities. This varies from discussion-focused meetings, debates led by key activists, table quizzes, workshops and twists on traditional movie nights: think corporate-responsible Monopoly and human rights themed Scrabble!!
If you would like to get involved, send us an email or feel free to join us at one of our events.
We send out weekly emails about upcoming events. You can also take a look at our instagram page @ugamnesty where we will also post information about upcoming meetings.
