Stand Up for SVP

Comedy Soc are hosting an evening of some of the finest local and national stand-up comedy in association with NUIG's SVP Soc, on Monday February 27th in Meeting Rooms 1&2 in Aras na McLeinn. The special guest on the night is Davey Reilly, ('The future of Irish comedy' - Rich Hall). With support from local comedians. Entry is 4 euro for students and 5 for public, with all proceeds going to students in financial difficulty. Doors at 6pm, show 6:30. Pizza will be served and you'll be in a draw to win a 20 euro Sult bar tab on the night! Since first performing stand up at the age of 18, Davey Reilly has gone on to perform at every major Irish comedy festival, including the Cat Laughs, Forbidden Fruit, Longitude, Vodafone Comedy Festival, and Galway Comedy Carnival, as well as supporting Hannibal Buress in Vicar St. In 2016 he made his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe with his show Dysmorphin' Time! Following the Fringe, he toured the show to sold out crowds in Dublin, Cork, London, and New York. One of the stars of 'Facts'. (voted 'Ireland’s Best Youtube Channel') he has appeared on RTÉ, BBC, MTV, and in the pages of The Washington Post and Cosmopolitan. With over 800.000 subscribers and well over 200 million views, Davey has gained a global following. Also performing on the night are some favourites of Ireland's comedy scene. Aine Gallagher (Roisin Dubh Comedy Clubh), Comedy Soc's own Sarah O'Gorman (Kilkenny Cat Laughs 2016), Bob Hennigan (Ireland's Smallest Comedy Club) and Al Orme, with Eoin Burns as MC (Roisin Dubh Comedy Showcase).
