V’cenza Cirefice is an ecofeminist researcher and activist from County Down, who explores environmental justice through a feminist lens. She has previously worked as a facilitator for Young Friends of the Earth Europe on issues relating to gender, climate/environment and rural communities. She has also worked as a researcher for Plan International, The Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network, and with environmental and social justice organisations in Cyprus and Greece. Currently, she is an Irish Research Council PhD Candidate in NUI Galway, exploring resistance to extractivism in the Sperrins through a feminist political ecology perspective. She has published on topics from self-organised refugee spaces, period poverty to women's resistance to extractive industries.
