Name Lit & DebA presentation will be given by Máire Ni Mheibhric who recently returned to Ireland, having served as a Human Rights Monitor in the Palestinian Occupied West Bank.
Máire previously served as a Human Rights Monitor in Hebron in 2019 and recently in Masafer Yatta in the South of the West Bank.
She will provide an up-to-date account of what she witnessed before being evacuated, as well as updates on the increasing levels of violence and displacement which Palestinians in the West Bank are experiencing since 7 October.

Among the other guests on the evening will be Amanie Issa, Amanie is Palestinian from the Occupied West Bank. She is a PhD researcher and Hardiman scholar at the Irish Centre of Human Rights at the university of Galway.
Amanie will present a written piece “the untold stories of Gaza”
Poets Anne Irwin from Galway and Anne Donnellan from Clare will read recent works inspired by the ongoing situation in Palestine.
Sara from the Palestinian Society will screen a translated lyrics video of a song by a Lebanese composer (Marcel Khalifeh) based on the poem "The Passport" by the Palestinian poet and politician Mahmoud Darwish.
